حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْعُمَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَرْمٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ ثُوَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي فَاخِتَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْغَدِيرِ فَقَالَ «أَلَسْتُ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ؟» قَالُوا بَلَى فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ اللهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ gave us a sermon on the day of Ghadir and said: “Am I not more entitled to the believers than their own selves?” They said: Yes. Then he took hold of Ali’s ؓ hand and said: “Whoever’s mawla I am, Ali is his mawla. O God, befriend whoever befriends him and be an enemy to whoever is his enemy.”
