حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {§لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} {وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ} جَاءَ ابْنُ أُمُّ مَكْتُومٍ فَقَالَ
يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمَا لِي رُخْصَةٌ؟ قَالَ «لَا» قَالَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي ضَرِيرٌ فَرَخَّصْ لِي فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {غَيْرٌ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ} فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِكِتَابَتِهَا

✧ O Messenger of God, is there no concession for me? He said, 'No.' Ibn Umm Maktum said, 'O God, I am blind,' so a concession was granted to me, and God sent down {other than those who are disabled}. The Messenger of God ﷺ ordered it to be written down.
