حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الدَّهَّانُ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا مُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلٍ» قُلْنَا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ ﷻ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ» وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. al-Ḥusayn b. Isḥāq

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "No one enters Paradise by his deeds." We said, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "No, not even me, unless Allah ﷻ envelops me in mercy from Him." And he placed his hand on his head.
