حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ أَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا
أَنْ نُسَبِّحَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَنَحْمَدُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَنُكَبِّرُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ فَرَأَى رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ فَقَالَ أَمَرَكُمْ نَبِيُّكُمْ ﷺ أَنْ تُسَبِّحُوا كَذَا وَتَحْمَدُوا كَذَا وَتُكَبِّرُوا كَذَا قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «اجْعَلُوهَا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَزِيدُوا فِيهَا التَّهْلِيلَ» فَجَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِرُؤيَاهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اجْعَلُوهَا كَمَا قَالَ»

✧ We were commanded to glorify Allah thirty-three times at the end of every prayer, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four times. A man of the Ansar saw in a dream—as one who sleeps sees—and said: “Your Prophet ﷺ commanded you to glorify so many times, praise so many times, and magnify so many times?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “Make them twenty-five and add the tahleel (saying ‘La ilaha illa Allah’) to them.” The Ansari came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him of his dream. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Make them as he said.”
