حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ نَفَرٌ عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَقَالُوا
حَدَّثَنَا بَعْضٌ حَدِيثَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ وَمَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ؟ كُنْتُ جَارَهُ «فَكَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ الْوَحْيُ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ فَكَتَبْتُ الْوَحْيَ وَكَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الْآخِرَةَ ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الدُّنْيَا ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الطَّعَامَ ذَكَرَهُ مَعَنَا» فَكُلُّ هَذَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْهُ

✧ Someone related to us a hadith of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: "And what shall I tell you? I was his neighbor. When revelation descended, he would send for me, and I would write down the revelation. When we mentioned the Hereafter, he would mention it with us; when we mentioned this world, he would mention it with us; and when we mentioned food, he would mention it with us." So all of this I relate to you from him.
