حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بِلَالٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحْيِي لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَلَيْلَةَ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَلَا كَإِحْيَائِهِ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ كَيْفَ تَخُصُّ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ فِيهَا نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ وَفِي صَبِيحَتِهَا فُرِّقَ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَالْبَاطِلِ وَكَانَ فِيهَا يُصْبِحُ مُبْهَجَ الْوَجْهِ»

✧ He used to keep vigil on the twenty-third night of Ramadan and the twenty-seventh night, but not like his vigil on the seventeenth night. It was said to him: "How do you single out the seventeenth night?" He said: "In it the Quran was sent down, on its morning the truth was distinguished from falsehood, and in it one rises with a radiant face."
