حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ
عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ وَتَحْتَ سَهْلٍ نَمَطٌ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ انْزِعُوا مِنْ تَحْتِي هَذَا النَّمَطَ فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي التَّصَاوِيرِ «لَا تَدْخُلُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ رَقْمٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ» قَالَ سَهْلٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ فَانْزِعُوهُ

✧ From Abū Ṭalḥah, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that he entered upon Sahl while he was ill, and beneath Sahl was a coverlet containing figures. Sahl said, “Remove from beneath me this coverlet.” Abū Ṭalḥah said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding images: ‘The angels do not enter it, except what is embroidery in a cloth, for there is no harm in it.’” Sahl said, “Even so, remove it.”
