حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَأَنَّ عَلَى رُءُوسِنَا الطَّيْرَ مَا يَتَكَلَّمُ مِنَّا مُتَكَلِّمٌ إِذْ جَاءَهُ أُنَاسٌ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفْتِنَا فِي كَذَا أَفْتِنَا فِي كَذَا فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ وَضَعَ اللهَ الْحَرَجَ إِلَّا مَنِ اقْتَرَضَ مِنْ أَخِيهِ قَرْضًا فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي حَرِجَ وَهَلَكَ أَفَنَتَدَاوَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ لَهُ دَوَاءً غَيْرَ دَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ الْهَرَمُ قَالُوا فَمَنْ أَحَبُّ عِبَادِ اللهِ إِلَى اللهِ؟ قَالَ «أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا»

✧ We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ as if birds were on our heads; none of us was speaking. Then people came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling about such and such; give us a ruling about such and such." He said: "O people, Allah has removed harm, except for one who borrows from his brother a loan; that is the one who is in harm and is destroyed. Should we seek treatment, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Yes, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, did not send down a disease except that He sent down for it a cure, except one disease." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, and what is it?" He said: "Old age." They said: "Then who is the most beloved of Allah's servants to Allah?" He said: "The best of them in character."
