حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّنِّيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بِلَالَ بْنَ يَسَارِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَدِّي

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ قَالَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ غُفِرَ لَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ فَرَّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ»

Translation

  4. ʿUmar b. Murrah

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone says: "I ask pardon of Allah than Whom there is no deity, the Living, the eternal, and I turn to Him in repentance," he will be pardoned, even if he has fled in time of battle. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1517)
