حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ مَوْلَى تُجِيبَ حَدَّثَنِي حَنَشٌ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ غَزَوْنَا الْمَغْرِبَ وَعَلَيْنَا رُوَيْفِعُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَافْتَتَحْنَا قَرْيَةً

يُقَالُ لَهَا جَرْبَةُ فَقَامَ فِينَا رُوَيْفِعٌ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَا أَقُومُ فِيكُمْ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ قَامَ فِينَا يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ حِينَ افْتَتَحْنَاهَا فَقَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يُسْقِ مَاءَهُ زَرْعَ غَيْرِهِ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَأْتِ ثَيِّبًا مِنَ السَّبْيِ حَتَّى يَسْتَبْرِئَهَا وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَبِيعَنَّ مَغْنَمًا حَتَّى يُقْسَمَ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَرْكَبَنَّ دَابَّةً مِنْ فَيْءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَعْجَفَهَا رَدَّهَا فِيهِ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَلْبَسُ ثَوْبًا مِنْ فَيْءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخْلَقَهُ رَدَّهُ فِيهِ»

✧ It is called Jarbah. Ruwayfiʿ stood among us delivering a speech and said: “I do not stand among you except with what I heard the Messenger of Allah say when he stood among us on the day of Ḥunayn after we had conquered it. He said: ‘Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not water his own crop with another’s water. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not approach a previously married woman from the captives until he has ascertained that she is not pregnant. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not sell spoils of war until they have been distributed. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not ride a beast from the fayʾ of the Muslims until, when he has made it lean, he returns it to it. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not wear a garment from the fayʾ of the Muslims until, when he has worn it out, he returns it to it.’”
