حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانَ الْعَوَقِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَلَاقِيمَهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَخْرُجُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُونَ فِيهِ شَرُّ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخَلِيقَةِ» قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَأَكْثَرُ ظَنِّي أَنَّهُ قَالَ «سِيمَاهُمُ التَّحْلِيقِ» قَالَ ابْنُ الصَّامِتِ فَلَقِيتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو أَخَا الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَا حَدِيثٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ يَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ «وَمَا أَعْجَبَكَ مِنْ هَذَا وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “There will be after me a people of my community who recite the Qur'an, but it does not go beyond their throats. They depart from the religion as the arrow departs from the game, then they do not return to it. They are the worst of creation and creatures.” Sulayman said: Most of my thought is that he said: “Their mark is shaving.” Ibn al-Samit said: Then I met Rafi' b. Amr, the brother of al-Hakam b. Amr al-Ghifari, and said to him: What is a hadith I heard from Abu Dharr saying such and such? And I mentioned this hadith to him. He said: “What surprises you about this, for I heard it from the Messenger of God ﷺ.”
