حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو النَّجَاشِيِّ عَطَاءُ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ مَوْلَى رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ سِتَّ سِنِينَ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ عَمِّهِ ظُهَيْرِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَهُ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ
لَهُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا عَنْ أَمْرٍ كَانَ لَنَا نَافِعًا قَالَ رَافِعٌ فَقُلْتُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَهُوَ الْحَقُّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَرَأَيْتَ مَحَاقِلَتِكُمْ مَاذَا تَصْنَعُونَ بِهَا؟» قُلْنَا نُؤْجِرُهَا عَلَى الرُّبُعِ وَعَلَى الْأَوْسُقِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ وَالشَّعِيرِ قَالَ «فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا ازْرَعُوهَا أَوْ أَزْرِعُوهَا أَوْ أَمْسِكُوهَا»

✧ He said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us something that was beneficial to us. Rafi' said: I said: Whatever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said is the truth. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What do you think about your muhaqalah? What do you do with it?" We said: We lease it for a quarter and for measures of dates and barley. He said: "Do not do that. Cultivate it yourselves, or let others cultivate it, or keep it."
