حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّازُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْحَرَشِيُّ ثنا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَى الْهِلَالَ قَالَ «هِلَالُ خَيْرٍ وَرُشْدٍ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذَا ثَلَاثًا اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ وَخَيْرِ الْقَدَرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ» ثَلَاثَةَ مَرَّاتٍ

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ saw the new moon, he would say: 'A crescent of good and guidance.' Then he would say three times: 'O God, I ask You for the good of this — O God, I ask You for the good of this month and the good of destiny, and I seek refuge in You from its evil.'
