حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَوْرَةَ ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ أَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ طَاوُسٍ إِلَى رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ فَسَأَلَهُ طَاوُسٌ عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ

«كُنَّا نُعْطِي الْأَرْضَ بِالنِّصْفِ وَالثُّلُثِ عَلَى مَا فِي الرَّبِيعِ وَعَلَى مَا فِي الْبَعْلِ فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ» فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ ضَرَبَ طَاوُسٌ عَلَى يَدَيَّ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكَ أَرْضٌ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

✧ "We used to divide the land between us, half and one third, based on what was in spring and what was in Ba'al. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that. After he left, Tawus hit my hands and said, 'If you have land, then mention the hadith.'"
