✧ The Dirham of Abu Muawiyah

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ دِرْهَمٍ

أَنَّ دِرْهَمًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ جِئْتُكَ أَسْتَفْتِيكَ فِي الْغَزْوِ قَالَ «لَكَ أُمٌّ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَالْزَمْهَا»

Translation

  4. Muʿāwiyah b. Dirham

✧ That a dirham came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I have come to ask you for a ruling about going on military expeditions. He said: "Do you have a mother?" He said: Yes. He said: "Then stay with her."
