حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ عَنْ دَيْلَمٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ شَرَابًا مِنْ هَذَا الْقَمْحِ نَتَقَوَّى بِهِ عَلَى أَعْمَالِنَا وَعَلَى بَرْدِ بِلَادِنَا قَالَ «هَلْ يُسْكِرْ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ» ثُمَّ جِئْتُهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ «هَلْ يُسْكِرُ» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ» قُلْتُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ غَيْرُ تَارِكِيهِ قَالَ «فَإِنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكُوهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: O Messenger of Allah, a drink made from this wheat that we use to gain strength for our work and against the cold of our land. He said: "Does it intoxicate?" I said: Yes. He said: "Then avoid it." Then I came to him from in front of him and said the same thing to him. He said: "Does it intoxicate?" I said: Yes. He said: "Then avoid it." I said: The people will not leave it. He said: "If they do not leave it, then kill them."
