حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَلَاثِ رَكَعَاتٍ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ فَدَخَلَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْخِرْبَاقُ وَكَانَ طَوِيلَ الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَخَرَجَ مُغْضَبًا يَجُرُّ رِدَاءَهُ فَقَالَ «أَصْدَقَ» فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى تِلْكَ الرَّكْعَةَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said the salam after three rak‘ahs in the ‘Asr prayer, then entered. A man called al-Khirbaq, who had long arms, stood up to him and said, “Has the prayer been shortened, O Messenger of God?” He came out angry, dragging his cloak, and said, “He spoke the truth?” They said, “Yes.” So he stood and prayed that rak‘ah.
