حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزْدَادَ التَّوْزِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ قَالَا ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ خُرَيْمِ بْنِ فَاتِكٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَهْلُ الشَّامِ سَوْطُ اللهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ يَنْتَقِمُ بِهِمْ مِمَّنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَحَرَامٌ عَلَى مُنَافِقِيهِمْ أَنْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَى مُؤْمِنِيهِمْ وَلَا يَمُوتُوا إِلَّا غَمًّا وَهَمًّا»

✧ From Khuraym b. Fātik al-Asadī, a Companion of the Messenger of God ﷺ, that he heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “The people of Syria are God's whip on His earth; He takes vengeance through them upon whomever He wills of His servants. It is forbidden for their hypocrites to prevail over their believers, and they will die only in grief and sorrow.”
