حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْعِجْلِيُّ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ شِمْرِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ خُرَيْمِ بْنِ فَاتِكٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَيُّ رَجُلٍ أَنْتَ لَوْلَا خَلَّتَانِ فِيكَ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا هُمَا؟ قَالَ «تُسْبِلُ إِزَارَكَ وتُرْخِي شَعْرَكَ» قُلْتُ لَا جَرَمَ لَا أَعُودُ قَالَ «فَجَزَّ شَعْرَهُ وَرَفَعَ إِزَارَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "What a man you would be were it not for two traits in you." I said: "O Messenger of God, what are they?" He said: "You let your lower garment hang low and you let your hair grow long." I said: "No doubt I will not go back." He said: "So he cut his hair and raised his lower garment."
