حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشْبَحِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَفِيفِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَرَضِيَ عَنْهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِهِ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْمَسْجِدَ فَيُدْرِكُ تِلْكَ الصَّلَاةَ أَيُعِيدُها مَعَ النَّاسِ أَمْ لَا؟ قَدْ سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ يُعِيدُهَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ سَهْمُ جَمْعٍ»

✧ He asked Abu Ayyub, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, ؓ, about a man who prays in his house, then comes to the mosque and catches that prayer: should he repeat it with the people or not? We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, and he said, 'Yes, he should repeat it; that gives him a share of the gathering.'
