حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ خَالَفَ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَقَالَ

لَهُ مَرْوَانُ مَا يَحْمِلُكَ عَلَى هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً إِنْ وَافَقْتَهُ وَافَقْتُكَ وَإِنْ خَالَفْتَهُ صَلَّيْتُ وانْقَلَبْتُ إِلَى أَهْلِي»

✧ Marwan said to him, 'What makes you do this?' He said, 'I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying a prayer: if I agreed with him, I agreed with you; and if I differed from him, I prayed and then returned to my family.'
