حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ

أَهْدَتْ أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ لِمَيْمُونَةَ لَحْمَ ضَبٍّ فَدَخَلَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُدِّمَ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ لَا يَأْكُلُ طَعَامًا حَتَّى يَعْلَمَ مَا هُوَ؟ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ أَخْبِرُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا هَذَا؟ فَقَالُوا إِنَّهُ لَحْمُ ضَبٍّ أَهْدَتْهُ أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ لِمَيْمُونَةَ قَالَ وَهَمَّ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ فَكَفَّ أَحَرَامٌ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَكِنِّي أَجِدُنِي أَعَافُهُ وَلَيْسَ مِنْ طَعَامِ قَوْمِي» قَالَ خَالِدٌ فَأَكَلْتُهُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَلَمْ يَعِبْ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ

✧ Umm Hufayd gifted Maymunah dabb meat. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ entered and it was offered to him. He would not eat any food until he knew what it was. A woman said, "Inform the Prophet ﷺ what this is." They said, "It is dabb meat that Umm Hufayd gifted to Maymunah." He said, and he had intended to eat from it but refrained, "Is it forbidden, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "No, but I find myself averse to it, and it is not from the food of my people." Khalid said, "So I ate it while he was sitting, and he did not fault me for that."
