حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَدَ قَلَنْسُوَةً لَهُ يَوْمَ الْيَرْمُوكِ فَقَالَ اطْلُبُوهَا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوها فَقَالَ

اطْلُبُوهَا فَوَجَدُوهَا فَإِذَا هِي قَلَنْسُوَةٌ خَلَقَةٌ فَقَالَ خَالِدٌ «اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ فَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ جَوَانِبَ شَعْرِهِ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ إِلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ فَجَعَلْتُهَا فِي هَذِهِ الْقَلَنْسُوَةِ فَلَمْ أَشْهَدْ قِتَالًا وَهِيَ مَعِي إِلَّا رُزِقْتُ النَّصْرَ»

✧ “Look for it,” so they found it, and it was an old worn cap. Khalid said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ‘umrah and shaved his head, and the people rushed to get the sides of his hair. I beat them to his forelock hair, and I placed it in this cap. I have never witnessed a battle with it with me except that I was granted victory.”
