حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ لَمَّا كَتَبْنَا الْمَصَاحِفَ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهَا عِنْدَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا} قَالَ «وَكَانَ خُزَيْمَةُ يُدْعَى ذُو الشَّهَادَتَيْنِ»

✧ Zayd b. Thabit said: When we wrote the mushafs, I missed a verse that I used to hear from the Messenger of God ﷺ, and I found it with Khuzaymah b. Thabit al-Ansari: “Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to God; among them are those who have fulfilled their vow, and among them are those who await, and they have not changed in the least.” He said, “Khuzaymah used to be called Dhu al-Shahadatayn.”
