حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عُلَيٍّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ عَنْ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْخَيْلُ ثَلَاثٌ فَفَرَسٌ لِلرَّحْمَنِ وَفَرَسٌ لِلْإِنْسَانِ وَفَرَسٌ لِلشَّيْطَانِ فَأَمَّا فَرَسُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَمَا اتُّخِذَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وقُوتِلَ عَلَيْهِ أَعْدَاءُ اللهِ ﷻ وَأَمَّا فَرَسُ الْإِنْسَانِ فَمَا اسْتُبْطِنَ وَتُحُمِّلَ عَلَيْهِ وَأَمَّا فَرَسُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَمَا رُوهِنَ عَلَيْهِ وقُومِرَ عَلَيْهِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Horses are of three kinds: a horse for the Most Merciful, a horse for man, and a horse for Satan. The horse of the Most Merciful is that which is kept for the cause of God and upon which the enemies of God, may He be exalted, are fought. The horse of man is that which is used for breeding and for carrying loads. The horse of Satan is that which is staked for gambling and wagered upon.”
