حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ثنا كَيْسَانُ أَبُو عُمَرَ الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ وَثَنَا كَيْسَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ خَبَّابٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا صُمْتُمْ فَاسْتَاكُوا بِالْغَدَاةِ وَلَا تَسْتَاكُوا بِالْعَشِيِّ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ صَائِمٍ تَيْبَسُ شَفَتَاهُ بِالْعَشِيِّ إِلَّا كَانَ نُورًا بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» «لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ عَلِيٌّ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "When you fast, use the tooth-stick in the morning, but do not use it in the evening; for there is no fasting person whose lips become dry in the evening except that it becomes light between his eyes on the Day of Resurrection." 'Ali did not trace it back to the Prophet.
