حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَوَّلِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ آمِينَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيَّ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خُيِّرَ عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيدِ اللهِ بَيْنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمُلْكِهَا وَنَعِيمِهَا وَبَيْنَ الْآخِرَةِ فَاخْتَارَ الْآخِرَةَ» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بَلْ نَفْدِيكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِأَمْوَالِنَا وَأَنْفُسِنَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A servant among Allah's servants was given the choice between this world with its dominion and bliss and the Hereafter, and he chose the Hereafter.' Abu Bakr said, 'Rather we ransom you, O Messenger of Allah, with our wealth and our lives.'
