حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

أَخَذَنِي وَأَبِي الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَأَخَذُوا عَلَيْنَا عَهْدًا أَنْ لَا نُعِينَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «فُوا لَهُمْ وَنَسْتَعِينُ اللهَ عَلَيْهِمْ»

✧ The polytheists took me and my father captive on the day of Badr, and they made us promise that we would not help the Prophet ﷺ. We mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, “Fulfill your pledge to them, and we seek Allah’s help against them.”
