✧ Umama bt. Abi al-As became critically ill. Zaynab bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ sent to the Messenger of God ﷺ saying to him, 'My daughter is critically ill.' He sent to his daughter, 'To God belongs what He takes, and to Him belongs what He leaves.' She became critically ill a second time, and she sent to him, 'My daughter is critically ill.' He sent to his daughter, 'To God belongs what He takes, and to Him belongs what He leaves.' Then it was the third time, and the Prophet ﷺ came to her. She brought the child out to him, and her soul was rattling in her chest. With the Prophet ﷺ were some of his companions. His eyes shed tears until he grasped his beard. He noticed them while they were looking at him, and he said, 'What is with you that you look?' They said, 'O Messenger of God, we saw you become tender.' He said, 'It is a mercy that God ﷻ places wherever He wills. And God will have mercy tomorrow on the merciful among His servants.'
