حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ شُبَيْلِ بْنِ عَزَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حِبَرَةَ قَالَ

صَحِبْتُ عَلِيًّا ؓ حَتَّى أَتَى الْكُوفَةَ فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ إِذَا نَزَلَ بِذُرِّيَّةِ نَبِيِّكُمْ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْكُمْ؟» قَالُوا إِذًا نُبْلِيَ اللهَ فِيهِمْ بَلَاءً حَسَنًا فَقَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَيَنْزِلُنَّ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْكُمْ ولَتَخْرُجُنَّ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَتَقْتُلُنَّهُمْ» ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ يَقُولُ

✧ I accompanied Ali ؓ until he reached Kufa. He ascended the pulpit, praised and extolled God, then said, “How will you be when the descendants of your Prophet settle among you?” They replied, “In that case, we shall strive for God’s sake concerning them in an excellent manner.” He said, “By Him in Whose hand is my soul, they will surely settle among you, and you will surely go out against them and kill them.” Then he turned away saying,
