حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ؓ «كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي اسْتِلَامِ الرُّكْنِ؟» يَعْنِي الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ اسْتَلَمْتُ وَتَرَكْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ «أَصَبْتَ»

Translation

✧ Al-Qaʿnabi narrated to us from Malik, from Hisham b. Urwah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said to Abd al-Rahman b. Awf ؓ, “How did you do, O Abu Muhammad, in touching the corner?”—meaning the Black Stone. Abd al-Rahman said, “I touched it and left off.” The Messenger of God said, “You have done correctly.”
