حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْهَيْصَمِ ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ عَنْ عَزَّةَ بِنْتِ عِيَاضٍ قَالَتْ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ يَقُولُ لَمَّا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا وَأُمِّي وَخَالَتِي وَرَجَعْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ مُنْصَرِفِينَ قَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي وَخَالَتِي «يَا بُنَيَّ مَا رَأَيْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ وَجْهًا وَلَا أَنْقَى ثَوْبًا وَلَا أَلْيَنَ كَلَامًا وَرَأَيْنَا كَأَنَّ النُّورَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ فِيهِ»

✧ I heard Abū Qirṣāfah say: When we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ — myself, my mother, and my maternal aunt — and we returned from his presence departing, my mother and my maternal aunt said to me, “O my son, we have not seen anyone like this man, more handsome of face, nor cleaner of garment, nor gentler of speech; and we saw as if light were emanating from his mouth.”
