✧ The lineage of Zubayr b. al-Awwam "Zubayr b. al-Awwam b. Khawilid b. Asad b. Abd al-Uzza b. Qusayy b. Kilab b. Murrah b. Ka'b b. Lu'ayy b. Ghalib b. Fihr b. Malik, known as Abu Abdullah, and his mother: Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ
«قُتِلَ الزُّبَيْرُ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَثَلَاثِينَ قَتَلَهُ ابْنُ جُرْمُوزٍ وَمَعَهُ النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ زِمَامٍ وَأَبُو الْمَضْرَحِيِّ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَقُتِلَ بِوَادِي السِّبَاعِ وَدُفِنَ بِهِ»

✧ Al-Zubayr was killed in the year thirty-six. Ibn Jurmuz killed him, and with him were al-Nu'man b. Zimam and Abu al-Madrahi, two men from Banu Tamim. He was killed in Wadi al-Siba' and buried there.
