حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ قَالَ
بَالَ جَرِيرٌ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَعَابَ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ قَبْلَ الْمَائِدَةِ قَالَ «مَا أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَّا بَعْدَ مَا أُنْزِلَتِ الْمَائِدَةُ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ إِلَّا بَعْدَ مَا نَزَلَتْ»

✧ Jarir urinated and wiped over his leather socks. A group criticized him for that and said: ‘This was before the Ma’idah.’ He said: ‘I did not embrace Islam until after the Ma’idah was revealed, and I did not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wipe except after it was revealed.’
