✧ Some people from the desert came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing striped woolen cloaks and asked him. The Prophet ﷺ urged the people to give charity, but they were slow to give it until that was evident in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then a man from the Ansar came with a piece of gold ore and cast it down, and the people followed one another in giving charity until joy was evident in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, “Whoever establishes a good sunnah that is acted upon after him will have the like of its reward and the reward of those who act upon it, without any of their rewards being diminished. And whoever establishes an evil sunnah that is acted upon will bear its burden and the burden of those who act upon it, without any of their burdens being diminished.”
