حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ وَوَكِيعٌ قَالُوا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَنْ صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا فَافْعَلُوا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا}

✧ We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, and he looked at the moon on the night of the fourteenth and said: “Indeed you will see your Lord just as you see this, not being harmed in seeing Him. So if you are able not to be overcome in respect of a prayer before sunrise and before sunset, then do so.” Then he recited this verse: {And glorify the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting.}
