حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ الْحُصَيْنِ قَالَتْ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَهُوَ عَلَى رَحْلِهِ وَرَاحِلَتِهِ وَحُصَيْنٌ فِي حِجْرِي وَقَدْ أَدْخَلَ ثَوْبَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا لِمَنْ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَبْدًا حَبَشِيًّا مُجَدَّعًا فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ»

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage, while he was on his saddle and mount, and Husayn was in my lap. He had tucked his garment under his armpit and was saying, "O people, fear God, and listen and obey whoever is in authority over you, even if he is a mutilated Abyssinian slave. Listen and obey as long as he upholds the Book of God among you."
