حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنُ مُسَاوِرٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا عِصْمَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْخَزَّازُ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الرُّمَّانِيِّ عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ أَوْسٍ الْبَهْزِيَّةِ

أَنَّهَا سَلَّتْ سَمْنًا لَهَا فَجَعَلَتْهُ فِي عُكَّةٍ ثُمَّ أَهْدَتْهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَبِلَهُ وَأَخَذَ مَا فِيهِ وَدَعَا لَهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَرَدُّوهَا عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ مَمْلُوءَةٌ سَمْنًا فَظَنَّتْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا فَجَاءَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلَهَا صُرَاخٌ فَقَالَ «أَخْبَرُوهَا بِالْقَصَّةِ» فَأَكَلَتْ مِنْهُ بَقِيَّةَ عُمُرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَوِلَايَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَوِلَايَةِ عُمَرَ وَوِلَايَةِ عُثْمَانَ حَتَّى كَانَ بَيْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ مَا كَانَ

✧ She extracted some clarified butter of hers and put it in a leather container, then gifted it to the Prophet ﷺ. He accepted it, took what was in it, and prayed for blessing for her. They returned it to her while it was full of clarified butter. She thought that the Prophet ﷺ had not accepted it, so she came to the Prophet ﷺ crying out. He said, 'Tell her the story.' So she ate from it for the remainder of the Prophet's ﷺ life, the rule of Abu Bakr, the rule of 'Umar, and the rule of 'Uthman, until there was what there was between 'Ali and Mu'awiyah.
