حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أُمِّ الْحَكَمِ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمِّي أُمُّ الْحَكَمِ قَالَتْ

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ مَغْزًى وَقَدْ أَصَابَ رَقِيقًا فَذَهَبْتُ أَنَا وَأُخْتِي فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ فَذَهَبْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يُحْبِيَنَا وَذَكَرْنَا حَاجَاتِنَا فَقَالَ سَبَقَكُمْ يَتَامَى أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a military expedition with captives. My sister and I went and entered upon Fatimah, then we went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him to give us a share, mentioning our needs. He said, “The orphans of the people of Badr have beaten you to it.”
