حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ جَمِيلِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا مَاتَتْ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اغْسِلْنَهَا وِتْرًا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا غَسَلْتُنَّهَا فَأَعْلِمْنَنِي فَأَعْلَمْنَاهُ قَالَتْ فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ فَقَالَ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ

✧ When the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: "Wash her an odd number of times, three or five, and put camphor in the last [wash], or something of camphor. When you have washed her, inform me." So we informed him. She said: He threw his waist-wrapper to us and said: "Wrap her with it."
