حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَمَرَنَا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ أَنْ لَا نَنُوحَ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ آلَ فُلَانٍ أَسْعَدَتْنِي فَلَنْ أُبَايِعَكَ حَتَّى أَسْعِدَهُنَّ قَالَتْ فَأَسْعَدْتُهُنَّ ثُمَّ بَايَعَتْهُ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ تَفِ مِنَّا امْرَأَةٌ غَيْرِي وَأُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ

✧ We gave allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and among what he commanded us of good was that we should not wail. A woman said, 'O Messenger of God, the family of so-and-so helped me (in mourning), so I will not give you allegiance until I help them.' She said, 'So I helped them, then I gave him allegiance.' She said, 'No woman among us fulfilled it except me and Umm Sulaym.'
