حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ زُرَيْقِ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ آمِنَةَ بِنْتِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ قَالَتْ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يَأْكُلُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَ لَا يَأْكُلُ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يَرْقُدُ الْجُنُبُ؟ قَالَ «مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْقُدَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ وَيُحْسِنَ وُضُوءَهُ وَإِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يُتَوَفَّى فَلَا يَحْضُرُهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, may one of us eat while he is junub? He said: He should not eat until he performs wuḍūʾ. She said: I said: O Messenger of God, may the junub sleep? He said: I do not like that he sleep while he is junub until he performs wuḍūʾ and does his wuḍūʾ well, for I fear that he may die and Jibrīl ﷺ will not attend him.
