حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ أنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ قَالَتْ

بَيْنَا أَنَا قَاعِدَةٌ عِنْدَ رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ فَبَكَيْتُ فَقَالَ «مَا يُبْكِيكِ؟» فَقُلْتُ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكَ فَلَا نَدْرِي مَا نَلْقَى بَعْدَكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ قَالَ «أَنْتُمُ الْمُسْتَضْعَفُونَ بَعْدِي»

✧ While I was sitting at the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was ill, I wept. He said: “What makes you weep?” I said: I fear for you, and we do not know what we will face from the people after you. He said: “You are the ones who will be deemed weak after me.”
