حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونُ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ قَالَتْ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِأُمِّ حَبِيبٍ بِنْتِ الْعَبَّاسِ وَهِيَ صُبَيَّةٌ فَوَضَعْتُهَا فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَبَالَتْ فَلَكَمَتْ فِي ظَهْرِهَا ثُمَّ احْتَمَلَتْهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَهْ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَى مَبَالِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «اسْلُكُوا بِالْمَاءِ فِي سَبِيلِ الْمَبُولِ»

✧ I brought Umm Ḥabībah bt. al-ʿAbbās to the Prophet ﷺ when she was a little girl, and I placed her in the lap of the Prophet ﷺ. She urinated, so I struck her on the back, then picked her up. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Stop.” Then he called for a cup of water and poured it over the place where she had urinated, then said, “Pour water over the place of urination.”
