حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو بَحْرٍ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ حَدَّثَتْنِي زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ عَنْ فُرَيْعَةَ بِنْتِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا خَرَجَ فِي طَلَبِ أَعْلَاجٍ لَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِطَرَفِ الْقُدُومِ قَتَلُوهُ فَبَلَغَهَا الْخَبَرُ وَهِيَ فِي دَارٍ شَاسِعَةٍ عَنْ أَهْلِهَا فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَلَمَّا صَارَتْ فِي الْحُجْرَةِ رَدَّهَا فَقَالَ «امْكُثِي حَيْثُ أَتَاكِ الْخَبَرُ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ»

✧ That her husband went out in search of some 'uluj (laborers) belonging to him, until when he was at the edge of al-Qudum, they killed him. The news reached her while she was in a house far from her family, so he gave her permission. Then when she was in the room, he called her back and said, "Stay where the news came to you until the prescribed term reaches its end."
