حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ كَعْبٍ

عَنِ الْفُرَيْعَةِ بِنْتِ مَالِكٍ أُخْتِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا بَكَّارَ أَكْرَى أُعْلُوجًا لِيَعْمَلُوا لَهُ فَقَتَلُوهُ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقُلْتُ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي مَسْكَنٍ لَهُ وَلَا يَجْرِي عَلِيَّ مِنْهُ رِزْقٌ فَأَنْتَقِلُ إِلَى أَهْلِي وَيَتَامَايَ وَأَقُومُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «افْعَلِي» ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُ فَقَالَ «اعْتَدِّي حَيْثُ بَلَغَكِ الْخَبَرُ»

✧ From al-Furay'ah bint Malik, the sister of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that her husband Bakkar hired some 'uluj (non-Arab laborers) to work for him, and they killed him. She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I said, 'I am not in a dwelling that belongs to him, nor does any provision from him come to me, so I will move to my family and my orphans and take care of them.' He said, "Do so." Then it occurred to him otherwise, and he said, "Observe your waiting period where the news reached you."
