حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ
لَمَّا أَرَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكَ قَالَ لِجَدِّ بْنِ قَيْسٍ «هَلْ لَكَ فِي بَنَاتِ الْأَصْفَرِ» فَقَالَ ائْذَنْ لِي وَلَا تَفْتِنِّي فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ ائْذَنْ لِي وَلَا تَفْتِنِّي}

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended the expedition to Tabuk, he said to Jadd b. Qays, "Would you like (to fight) the fair-skinned women (lit. daughters of the yellow ones)?" He said, "Permit me to stay behind and do not tempt me." So Allah ﷻ revealed: "And among them is he who says, 'Permit me and do not tempt me'" (Qur'an 9:49).
