حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا سَالِمٌ أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنِي زُرْعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ جَرْهَدٍ قَالَ
مَرَّ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ قَدِ انْكَشَفَتْ فَخِذِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «غَطِّ فَخِذَكَ يَا جَرْهَدُ فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by me while I was in the mosque wearing a burdah, and my thigh had become uncovered, so the Prophet ﷺ said: “Cover your thigh, O Jarhad, for the thigh is ‘awrah.”
