✧ What b. Abbas narrated from Umm Hani

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ بِنْتِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فَشَرِبَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً وَلَكِنِّي كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ سُؤْرَكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كَانَ قَضَاءً مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَاقْضِيهِ يَوْمًا آخَرَ وَإِنْ كَانَ تَطَوُّعًا فَاقْضِيهِ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَلَا تَقْضِيِهِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon her, and a vessel was brought, and he drank. She said, “O Messenger of God, I was fasting, but I disliked to refuse your leftover drink.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “If it was a makeup fast of Ramadan, then make it up on another day; if it was voluntary, then make it up, and if you wish, you need not make it up.”
