✧ Fatimah daughter of Hamza son of Abd al-Muttalib is nicknamed Umm al-Fadl, and it is also said that her name is Ummamah, and it is also said to be Umarah.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ

ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ قَعْنَبٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ جَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي»

✧ Abdullah b. Maslama al-Qa’nabi narrated to us, my father Maslama b. Qa’nab narrated to me, from Hisham b. Urwa, from his father, from Aisha, that Fatimah bt. Abi Hubaysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have prolonged vaginal bleeding and do not become pure. Should I abandon the prayer?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “That is only a vein, not menstruation. When menstruation begins, abandon the prayer, and when it ends, wash the blood from yourself and pray.”
